Genetic diversity and structure of Siberian Stone Pine (<i>Pinus sibirica</i> Du Tour) populations

چکیده

Abstract Siberian stone pine ( Pinus sibirica Du Tour) is a key component of the Eurasian boreal forest ecosystems. However, due to ongoing climatic changes and anthropogenic activities, habitats species are constantly degrading reducing. To these reasons, exploring genetic resources determining diversity structure today’s populations essential. In this study, we assessed differentiation in six from different zones Middle Siberia. Based on seven microsatellite nuclear markers (nSSR), moderate level He =0.455) was detected. A population analysis divided into two groups. Southernmost were distinguished others. Analysis molecular variance (AMOVA) showed that only 2 % variation occurred among populations. Our findings suggest extensive gene flow may prevent Hence, further estimation with additional loci needed for crucial insight pool

phylogeography and genetic diversity of the lesser mouse- eared bat (myotis blythii) in iran

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...

Development of genetic diversity, differentiation and structure over 500 years in four ponderosa pine populations.

Population history plays an important role in shaping contemporary levels of genetic variation and geographic structure. This is especially true in small, isolated range-margin populations, where effects of inbreeding, genetic drift and gene flow may be more pronounced than in large continuous populations. Effects of landscape fragmentation and isolation distance may have implications for persi...

Genetic Diversity between Two South Florida Slash Pine Populations

South Florida slash pines provide an important microhabitat for some native Florida species, however, less than 1% of the original slash pine forest remains due to deforestation and hurricanes (DERM, 1995). This population decline makes it essential to study the genetic diversity of the remaining pine forest. Therefore, in this study we tested the hypothesis that geographic isolation has led to...

Genetic diversity and phylogeography of Siberian roe deer, Caproulus pygargus, in central and peripheral populations

Current understanding of phylogeographical structure and genetic diversity of Siberian roe deer remains limited mainly due to small sample size and/or low geographical coverage in previous studies. Published data suggest at least two phylogroups: western (Ural Mountains and Western Siberia) and eastern (east from lake Baikal, including the Korean peninsula), but their phylogenetic relationship ...

Genetic diversity and population structure of disjunct Newfoundland and central Ontario populations of eastern white pine (Pinus strobus)

The dramatic decline of eastern white pine (Pinus strobus L.) populations in Newfoundland over the past 100 years presents an opportunity to determine and monitor population bottleneck effects on genetic diversity in trees. To provide benchmarks and indicators for monitoring genetic changes due to recent and future bottleneck events and to assist development of conservation strategies, we asses...
